Blog Submissions

We look for a few things in every blog piece we publish:

  • Articles that are well-written and original.
  • Posts which keep and HOLD attention of the reader throughout a piece.
  • Posts which are easy to scan.
  • A logical structure and flow.
  • The use subheadings and bullets/lists, where appropriate, to make it easy for the reader to consume the information.
  • A strong, compelling introduction, original concepts and a conclusion that wraps up the article.
  • Attribute all data, quotes, and referenced content by hyperlinking to the original source.
  • Write between 500 and 1,000 words; however, do not sacrifice depth for brevity.
  • Readers care about your story, of course, but they also need to learn specific lessons from your post.
  • The inclusion of actionable takeaways and recommended next steps.
  • What We Won't Publish
  • Anything that's been covered on our blog before. Please do a search of our site before submitting your articles.
  • Anything that's offensive or inaccurate.
  • Articles that criticise or belittle companies or individuals; this is not a site to air grievances.

 How to Submit Your Article

  • Email your completed article (as a Word Doc or a HTML file)
  • If possible, include a link to your website, social media platform or contact details.
  • If your article meets our quality standards and follows our guidelines, we will email you within two weeks to confirm a publication date.
  • Due to the volume of requests we receive, we cannot respond to all submissions.
  • While we make every effort to preserve your voice, we will edit your content for grammar and clarity. We may also update it in the future for accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  • In addition, Maarifacircle reserves the right to include calls-to-action to Maarifacircle content, including but not limited to email newsletters, ebooks, and other downloadable content.

  • Payment: Maarifacircle is unable to pay for contributed blogs.
  • Maarifacircle retains the right to republish blogs in any of our other publications. Maarifacircle also reserves the right to decline to publish a submitted blog for any reason, including duplication of recent topics, the need for significant rewrites,  pieces that are discriminatory or offensive, or if the topic doesn’t fit with our needs.
  • Because of the moderation process, blogs will not be published immediately. If several blogs are submitted at once (either by one person or by several individuals), Maarifacircle may stagger their publications to ensure each blog has time at the top of our page.
  • Format and editing:  All submissions will be edited for correct grammar and formatted.
  • We may also break up long blocks of text to increase readability. Keep titles short and simple, preferably no more than eight words.

Poetry Submissions

Whilst reading your poetry submission, we will look for a poem that says something which is not trivial, not obvious, doesn’t use outworn images or diction, and which works at many levels simultaneously.

  • Please put submission in the subject box.
  • Poems should be no longer than 40 lines.
  • The maximum number of poems you should submit is 3.
  • Poems should be typed – and on one side of the page.
  • Please put your name and address at the foot of each page, as this helps us keep track.
  • If possible, include a link to your website, social media platform or contact details.

These tips will help you make the transition from writing poetry to celebrate, commemorate, or capture your own feelings (in which case you, the poet, are the center of the poem’s universe) to writing poetry in order to generate feelings in the reader (in which case the poem exists entirely to serve the reader).

  • Know Your Goal
  • Avoid Clichés
  • Avoid Sentimentality
  • Use Images
  • Use Metaphor and Simile
  • Use Concrete Words Instead of Abstract Words
  • Communicate Theme
  • Subvert the Ordinary
  • Rhyme with Extreme Caution

We look forward to showcasing your work!!!
